Hong Kong IYMMC "TOP TEN VIENNA STARS" was born
The IYMMC International Young Musicians Music Competition, Wien is organized by First Education Group in cooperation with the Universal Academy of Performing Arts and MusikQuartier, Vienna, aiming to provide professional and high-quality music competition and learning chances for music lovers. The IYMMC International Young Musicians Music Competition, Wien - Hong Kong Station Final 2021' was held on August 8 at Youth Square ytheatre.
This year's IYMMC Final retains the characteristics of the event during the epidemic. Well-known pianists from Vienna including Professor Franz Zettl, Professor Luigi Manta and violinist Prof. Konstantin Weitz were the adjudicators as of last year. There were also new jury members, Professor Arnold Steinwider and Professor Eric Lamb who are the Heads of Department of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, and the Academy of Music and Performing Arts. IYMMC also invited Hungarian pianist, Dr. Marina Novak, to serve as a guest adjudicator and masterclass instructor in the event and the Hong Kong Masterclass students have benefited a lot from her tuition.
The "Vienna Star" award has been newly-added to this year's competition. The ten winners who scored the highest points in the IYMMC competition will be selected as the "Top Ten Vienna Stars" in Hong Kong. The ten Hong Kong "TEN VIENNA STARS" are the piano players Sophia Jana Edwards, Tsui Wing Tung, Lau Tang Chun, duo players Isabella Fei and Isadora Fei, harp player Juliette Anna Cheung, Fan Sheung Yi, Yip Man, Oboe player Leung Yui Chit, Marimba player Cheung Suet Nam, as well as the String Quartet players Lui Cheuk Lok Karson, Wu Cheuk Yin Ethan, Lo Man Pan and Li Chit Ho Jaydon. The ten groups of winners have achieved outstanding results and have been invited to perform at the "IYMMC Winner Concert" in Vienna after the epidemic.
IYMMC hopes Hong Kong's students who are obsessed with music can take further steps and step into the music stage of Vienna!
